... as a chimney sweep!
We reached POS III with a massive sense of relief, mainly to be on firmer and flatter ground. We received plenty of laughs and looks of shock from groups trekking up the volcano, and it was our turn to say ‘you wait until tomorrow!’ The Chinese girl arrived a little while after us, being aided by one of the unimpressed group members.
Rested but still in agony, we slowly continued on. Even the slight decline was tormenting. Every step hurt ...

We left just after 10pm, after having a lovely evening. They had to work the next day though, so needed to get a decent nights sleep - Edd and I struggled to get to sleep upon getting back to our hotel, neither of us were particularly sure why we didn’t sleep well, but attributed it to the change of diet for the evening. Not even sleeping pills helped, it was going to be a long night..

We ate up and and it took Edd some convincing to get me to change into my costume; the waterfall was completely surrounded by cliffs and trees, therefore the sun did not penetrate to where we were, which made it incredibly cold. ... bars. We stopped at rudy's for a spot of lunch and indulged in some cold beers with the sea about 2 metres away from us. We then went back to our room which had a little porch so we sat and listened to music and purchased some beer from the lady next door. She was very sweet and was sat there with her friend listening to our music and gave us some bananas to eat which was so sweet. It's amazing how people with so little can be so incredibly generous. ... as the opening scenes were playing - we were actually the only people in there! After the film (which more people had joined intermittently) we picked up some sprite, much needed after pizza and salted popcorn given to us during the film, and went back to pack for the following day. With the option of a public or private transfer to Mataram, we opted for public being half the price, but this did mean that we would be leaving at 8am rather than whenever we liked! Written by ...
