Overpriced, over promised, under delivered and unsatisfied. I can go more into detail, like they serve leftovers, treat the staff like indentured servants. Steal tips and are bad people. Too strong? Keep reading...Terry (the owner) has been here for 15 years, too long in my book, has no friends in town, and don't we didn't see any love. The place is "nice" but the pool is always dirty (no filter I saw) and it's in the rain forrest so crabs lizards and alge are the norm.
Eco lodge, in name only, all you have to do is look at the kitchen soaps to know that they are cleaning with non biodegradable soaps. I found Clorox as well, with draining directly into the ocean.
Some of the rooms are not able to rent in rainy season due to rock slides. The stairway to heaven is scary as all the steps are slippery steep and some are missing. The boogie boards are free, but the repairs made are from fiberglass so become hard and dangerous. Beers are over priced and the internet which is nice to have, but is turned off at sun down so he doesn't have to run a generator (cheap) Oh and a room is per person not per couple. So honeymooners beware, the 125$ price looks good but its double, three meals are included, which would be nice, until you realize that, especially in the off seasons, when you think you'd get a good deal, they serve simple pesant food (best description I can come up with). A very small cup of ice cream m&m's and Syrup (maple, like for pancakes) is his idea of a dessert. The Osa is great with the park close by, but for the sake of your vacation being truly fun- Stay next door, Finca Exotica, where Eco really means sustainable.

I am posting some photos of the Osa Peninsula, Corcovado National Park, the Lookout Inn, Carate Beach and the area around Carete. It's not a town, but a beach and an area along the road with a few eco lodges and a few houses. At the end of the road is a little pulperia where they sell sodas for $2.50 to the thirsty hikers. The scarlet macaw shown …

Drake- Puerto Jiménez

... gente.

maneuvers and has landed some real nice turns. Perlman’s friend Matty was also here with us for a while. A 22 year old skier from Utah that needed to escape for a bit. He’s still learning to surf I think but the kid is fearless. Lisa’s been taking some great pics from the beach and catching up on some reading. I think she’s gone through 2 books already.
