... and who do we see, our waiter, down about three shops getting cigarettes at another store...he told us again the instructions, we thanked him and this time, we made it to the hotel!

What a great farewell dinner! And the best part, rained too ********ight to do the gondola, Don said he and Cindy will have to come back!

... You can also walk out in the terrace and see Piazza San Marco from above. It was impressive but as I was up quite high and the floor is slanted downwards, I didn't stay too long. After leaving the church I walked around the Piazza checking out all the little shops. The glass from Murano is quite lovely but expensive, at some point I will have to make it over the water to the factories and see if I can get something cheaper.

We all got our little souvenirs from the city as we do everywhere we go, and then tried to find a cafe with free wifi and a drink that our tour guide had told us about that is a coffee and grappa shot. She told us that if you are feeling sick, don't go to a chemist, go to a cafe and order this drink. ... island of Venice and stay on the mainland close by. The hotel was comfortable, clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. The problem was the location of the hotel which was next to a train line on the one side and an industrial area on the other. Probably ideal for businessmen but not great for tourists. Fortunately we had our car and we were able to get around under our own steam.
