    ... hills to the other side of the island. Patong is the real backpacker hotspot in Phuket with endless bars, tourist shops and of course the requisite stretch of sandy beach. The first excitement however was something a bit more familiar from home - a Boots shop! Having filled our home shops requirements (and bought some suncream in the process) we headed to the beach. This took us down the length of Bangla Road, bar central in Phuket, but which was still in its daytime guise ...

    ... t like it. Lunch for 2 for $3? Yes please. Waterfront living 24/7? Sure. Adventure? Absolutely! You realize how good you've got it. And you're thankful for the opportunities you've been provided. You're thankful for your family and friends. And you think of them often and hope they are happy and healthy.

    Enough for now. We are on our sail training trip - 4 days 3 nights. We are better than fine, and hope you are too. Until next time!

    What a great tour!!! Kayaking through bat caves and hongs within Phang-Nga bay was an amazing experience. It was exactly what I pictured when we decided to come to Thailand.     ... to appreciate other cultures. However what I can't forgive is the Speedo! A girl I was chatting to said " only gay men can pull off wearing speedo,s" not even sure want to have that one in my head either ? Not only do all the Russian males wear them regardless not only of age but physic to! 25 stone plus speedo not a good look! But their not content with that, they then seem to have this un natural desire to pull them up ...

    ... front, mother in the middle, and our paddler was already in the back, so away we went. Here we were once again graced with beautiful outlooks, this time largely without modern eyesores.
