BEST BEACH IN THE WORLD

A travel blog entry by seas_the_day

Rum Point is the best beach I have ever been to. It has a beach bar, bathrooms, a small store, and a nicer restaurant. It provides a secluded spot with the beauty of the overcrowded 7 mile Beach. It is one of the nicest beaches I have ever visited. Even a few fish can be spotted off near the ...

Monday 30 April– 01 May 2012 - Hello Cayman Brac
The joyfully cruising softly spoken officials of Cayman Brac ( the smallest of the Cayman Isles) cleared us in and then left us to a rolling, jerky sea for the night. First thing in the morning, we dived around the boat, ...

I thought I'd dived and gone to Heaven!

    from piffen

We went on the recommendation of friends who've been diving all over the world, and this place is their favorite. I can see why! Not only is there great diving with good boats and wonderful divemasters (Amanda and Coco were wonderful), but the rest of the resort is also great! The accomodations are comfortable and quiet. The food, especially the desserts, were simply AWESOME! The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were so relaxed by the end of the week there, and plan many returns in the years to come!

    What a Great Place

    from formergrappin

We just returned from a four day stay at Little Cayman Beach Resort--we are not divers but it didn't matter. The resort is a great relaxing place to stay. The only complaint I had was the double bed in our room--just too small for two when you are used to a king!! However rooms with king size beds are available so we will know better next time! The food was very good--all buffet style and just plain fare for the most part, although we were there for Christmas and they outdid themselves for the evening holiday meal. The bar and pool were virtually deserted during the day as soon as the dive boats went out so if you don't dive, you get all of the serenity you want (although I must say even when all of the boats were in, the place was NEVER crowded or stressful!). Due to Hurrican Ivan we got to meet a lot of people from Grand Cayman who came over for a little R & R-- an interesting experience that I am sure is not usual. The bar was fun and Sue and Gail made sure they knew your names and were superb bartenders. If you have the opportunity to meet "Stumpy" the resident iguana, be sure and give him a maraschino cherry. The island itself is very laid back and all of the locals are friendly. Be sure and visit the Hungry Iguana for lunch--I had a great burger and my companion said the marinated conch was the best he has ever had anywhere (and he has had a lot of it!). Great experience, great snorkeling, great staff--I can hardly wait to go back!

Loved it ... and would do it again!

We arrived in the early evening of Aug 14, 2004 to be assigned room 301. The room was neat and clean and housekeeping made sure it stayed that way all week. Our room was next door to the dive shop so we listened to the compressor running when we were on the patio. Not a real problem since we were hardly ever on the patio. Doing 3 dives a day kept us moving most the day. If not diving, we were eating or sleeping so we hardly saw the beach. The Dive Masters were great (Thanks Ron and Coco!). The food was plentiful with variety that allowed everyone to get something to that they enjoyed. Desserts were excellent. I can't believe I only gained a couple pounds with all that I ate! Loved seeing all the curly tailed lizards. I gotta tell you that I awakened this morning to discover a stowaway in my kitchen. Seems the "marching of crabs" lead one of them to march into one of our bags. I didn't discover him until 4:30 am when I got up to make coffee. I thought they were cute, but I didn't want to bring one home with me. In a nutshell, resort and its staff was great, SPA was excellent (get the 1 hour massage and a 4-layer facial), food was more than enough to meet your needs, diving is beyond words as far as the marine life and walls we saw. The only negative.... mosquitos were stirred up after Charley hit. I was told this was not the norm, but take some OFF spray just in case there is a problem when you go. Folks we met there had been 3 and 4 times before. I can understand why. You simply can't beat the diving there!

    Not necessarily a "luxury" resort

    from anonymous

We enjoyed the friendly staff. My husband and another guest had horrible food poisoning. The resort was not the "luxury" described on the web page, definitely a 3 Star experience. The food was decent with the exception of the poisoning incidences. Although three meals a day were included in our package, during the day every soda was about $2, virigin drinks $6 and alcoholic beverages were $10+...none of which are included. The diving was nice. However, I would recommend an allinclusive at Cozumel for diving and cost.

    Not just for divers

    from anonymous

Trip advisor was very helpful for finding a nice place to stay so it only seems far that I spend alittle time in return. My wife and I stayed at LCB resort for a few nights in mid April. We are not divers but were rather looking for a nice place to get away from it all. So I will give a different perspective then the diving crowd. On the good side, the accomodations were fine. We had an ocean front room and you could throw a rock (or coconut) off the deck and hit the water. Nice sandy beach for walking but I didnt see anyone swimming, there are alot of weeds. The resort grounds were beautiful, by far the nicest on the island and we went to all the (3) resorts. Speaking of the grounds the pool and the bar were very nice. The staff was also super. The only gripes I had was that they had no windsufing equipment even thou they show it on their web site (and it blew 18-30 mph everyday!) and there is none on the island for rent. The other thing that the resort could work on is their food. It is buffet style dinning. You really need to be there when the bell rings (and they do ring a bell). The evening meals were ok, not great, but ok. I dont think we ever ate lunch so I could comment on that. As far as the breakfast goes well... the fresh fruit was good. Because we are not divers the resort, if not the whole island, was ours when the dive boats left in the morning and afternoon. We enjoyed biking around the island exploring, snorkeling and just relaxing. If you want to go to one of the most beautiful spots on the earth, go to Point of Sand on the far east end of the island. Great snorkeling and we saw 4 people all day. After its all done and said we would probably go back to LCB resort again but I would look into Southern Cross also. Either way you really cant go wrong.

    Divers Paradise

    from anonymous

Spent a week at the resort and im dying to get back, Of all the Islands i have been too this is the best of everything. The hospitality was great, everyone was there for you, from management to house keepers, AND the diving was out of this world, Please keep you the great work.

Didn't want to leave, Sept 2003

    from anonymous

We spent a week at the resort and loved it. Great staff! Everyone was friendly and made an effort to learn our names. The diving was fantastic. We had 2 days of rain, and still went diving...it's calm on the bloody bay side even if the water is choppy on the resort side. 2 morning dives and 1 afternoon dive and then we would ride the junky old bikes around. Don't miss feeding the iguanas off of Candle Road. I have never experienced such comradarie with other travelers as I did at this resort....We had a blast at Friday night Karaoke-I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. We are already thinking about when we will be going back.

    Fantastic Dive Destination

    from anonymous

Just returned from a week at Little Cayman Beach Resort. This is one top-notch destination. The accomodations are excellent. Rooms very comfortable. The meals are all served buffet style and were all excellent. The diving is obviously the big draw on Little Cayman. All the stories I have heard about Bloody Bay Wall are understatements. The abundance of marine life and coral is unbelievable. The wall itself has to be experienced to be appreciated. At one site the boat was moored directly over the dropoff. Divers entering off the right side jumped into 27' of water. Divers entering off the left side were in 6000' of water. What a rush.

Little Cayman Beach resort in Little Cayman by far offers the best diving in the Carribean. Bloody Bay Wall, coupled with an excellent resort create the perfect atmosphere for the serious diver. From your reservation until your return flight to Grand Cayman every detail is attended to. This resort consistently continues to be our favorite!

    Great diving, food and accomodations

    from anonymous

Little Cayman Beach Resort is an outstanding destination for divers. The site is quite beautiful, with covered hammocks on the beach and comfortable accomodations. The food is excellent and plentiful. The diving cannot be beat! There are a number of outstanding sites...great wall diving as well as shallow dive sites. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The boats are comfortable and usually not over-crowded with divers. We have also enjoyed the people who visit this resort. We have made three trips to this resort and are planning another for next summer.
