... for early Wednesday morning to cross western Lake Erie to the Detroit River. It's a two day trip home, but we're not sure where we will stop for the night. We'll see when we get there. It looks like a Thursday arrival in Port Huron.
Driving from Frankfort to Lake Erie is one of the most boring trips I've seen in a while, scenery-wise. Cincinnati is always neat to drive through, but otherwise, it was a lot like most of the Great Lakes region...flat farmland. At some points, like in Michigan north of Detroit, an overhead map is just a bunch of straight roads that form square patterns.

... steroids. During the week is much quieter but still very "touristy". That's why we we chose to dock somewhere else. There is a water taxi from here to there so today we taxied to "The Island".just to see what it's all about.
After seeing what it's all about, we decided to come back when we're 21.
We had brunch today with our new friends Dick and Ruth after which they took us shopping for supplies to keep us on the water for another week.
Dick and Ruth joined us on the boat for beverages and snacks. They have made our visit to Vermilion special.
Later in the day Camille and I took the inflatable out for a river tour. ...
