      Steam Day at Edgar

A travel blog entry by trevorrose on Aug 22, 2014

Had a change of plan this morning as we were going to head for Milwaukee, but Greg knew of a Steam and Vintage Tractor Fair in Edgar in Wisconsin, so we headed north for a couple of hours to have a look. The weather started off fine but got very overcast and misty by the time we got to Edgar, and when we turned off the highway into the field where the Fair was being held we could plainly see that they had received a pile of rain yesterday! ... wasn't great. Our second one will be the same KOA one in Richmond, IN. That one was nice. The third one was tricky to find. We are staying in Cambridge, OH, because any we found in West Virginia or Pennsylvania were pretty ******-looking. The one in Washington was the worst one of all. Last year, when we went here I tried the pizza and disliked it. This year I tried the cheeseburger and disliked it just as much. The only good thing I have had in this restaurant is the deep-fried cheese curds :D.

Now I am just sitting in the camper relaxing.

... seat is getting uncomfortable. I rode from camp to town in the morning (5 miles).
I rode through town and all around (YAY rhymes) (approx. 7 miles total).
I rode from the reunion to Point Beach in the afternoon. (approx. 12 miles total).
I rode almost all the way back to town and grandpa picked me up. So probably about 16 miles total of bike riding.

Tonight for dinner I made my "famous" and very ...

... better than Perch, which was the fish I tried last year.

After dinner, my grandparents dropped me off with my bicycle to take the path back. So, the path travels from Point Beach to our campground to town. Boy, my legs are tired! The day is now ending as I'm sitting in the camper typing this. Some other highlights of today were going to the community center, visiting grandma's parents and grandparent's graves, and seeing the lake. ...
