... we had to go there. It was pretty fancy, though small by NJ standards. What was really nice was the lovely dinner we had while sitting outside in 80 degree weather listening to a live band play a concert (apparently this mall hosts concerts! Mall of Georgia: 1, Rockaway: 0!).

To say the least it was a nice evening where we were reminded how nice warm weather is. And of course, what relaxation feels like. Tomorrow....we go to America's largest aquarium!!! Stay tuned!

The last push to Neel Gap was both a great hike and pretty punishing. The day dawned clear and nice, which made for nice hiking, but it did get warmer, especially on the most challenging part: Blood Mountain. It was the steepest and highest section of trail so far, and it was decently challenging, especially with a pack. But it ended up being ...

It went up about 1,000 feet but it wasn't too terrible going up, but going down was a different story. The climb down into Neels Gap was full of slippery rocks that made me lose my footing a couple of times. I planned on hiking past Neels Gap, but there is ...

... I woke up at Stover around 7 and was able to get moving by 8:30. The day started off gold and wet, but the sun came out in the afternoon and it turned out to be an awesome day. I hiked a total of around 13 miles on Tuesday, and they were tough. The tallest mountain of the day was Sassafras which included a 600 foot climb followed by another mountain. Needless to say by the time I got to Gooch Shelter I was exhausted. I have never in my life been happier eating ...

After a small pit stop at a health clinic in Birmingham, and fighting our way through stand-still traffic through Atlanta, we are finally here! By here I mean Amicalola State Park, the starting point for the Appalachian Trail. Me, my family, Will, and Jessie are spending a couple days in the state park before me and Will hit the trail. I think I should take some time to explain who Will is considering I ...
