... which looked a little rustic but located in a serene location across from the river. It wasn't hard to see that this area was a mecca for fishing. Another surprise was coming upon three real cowboys rustling cattle into outdoor pens. I was able to get a video of this incredible moment. Hee haw! Stopped in Markleeville (pop. 200) for lunch at the Deli Cafe and then toured the Alpine County ...

Done a lot since last blog.
Went on a boat trip up Lake Tahoe. Very pretty but Yvonne was viciously stung by a flying critter on her upper leg. Amputation was considered but ruled as an over reaction. Trip to Yosemite was excellent. It's a very impressive place with big hills and great views. Went on a steam train from Carson City to Virginia City. Really enjoyed it and the ...

A quiet day in the local town (that's pushing it) but very pleasant. Only a mile away so walked. On Saturday we hope to go on a vintage steam on a round trip from Carson City to Virginia City. An old style western train like you see in the cowboy films.
Weather lovely so far and we think we are going to spend the day in Tahoe tomorrow.

    ... the Lake.

On the Friday, our last day, we went on the 5 Lake trail. To cut a long story short we saw only two lakes (I think the others were dry) and we got lost on the way back, which was kind of scary since we were in the middle of nowhere. We then took a dip in a nearby river (like the Corsican torrents) before heading back home. Next time I would do the white-water rafting on the river, since it looks like a great time. Camping isn't SO Bad.
