What a night! The Swiss people know how to party! We slept until 3pm.. almost a whole day wasted.. but not entirely. With recommendations from Manuel.. we went by train to a couple of lakeside destinations.. Lausanne and Montreux. Check out the photos to get an idea of just how beautiful these places are. Our last few hours in Paris were a disaster.
We slept a little longer than we should have and made a dash for the train station.. a mission in itself since the station we needed to be at was on the other side of town. To get there we needed to take three separate metro trains.. and we needed to get there in about 20 minutes. It took about 40 minutes and we missed our reservation.
The next available seats were not available until later in the day.. some 7 hours ...
Day 2 of the 3 day swiss pass was used to get from Bern to two new areas of exploration, both of which were great choices. The first was Luzern (Lucerne) which has a famous covered bridge which transgresses the lake and a very different white and gilded churxch on a hill nearby the train station. Our first month in Switzerland has flown by. We settled in and are busy finding our way around Fribourg. We've been on numerous walks to explore our town and found a new playground on almost every one of them. On the hill across from us there's an abbey with walking trails surrounding it and more trails along the beautiful Sarine River.
