A well organised apartment with good on site faclities. Only a partial kitchen , and no terrace in this one bed apartment which is a shame but otherwise spacious and comfortable.

This is a very out of the way holiday resort but it is a peaceful waterfront location. Make sure you arrive with some food, although they do have a limited stock of some grocery supplies. You can order croissants & pastries for your breakfast which is helpful because it is a drive to the nearest village. The receptionist (able to speak English) was very helpful in giving us directions to places to eat and recommendations of places to visit. The price was excellent for the facilities we had. Kitchen is well stocked with all the crockery & cutlery you'd need for a family and even to entertain! Great place to stay for a stopover or even a longer visit. Lovely little towns nearby to visit.

... site of where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. I knew the outcome, but knew little of the stroy. Seems Joan was around eighteen (some considered her a little off her track), when she approached the King of France and said she would retake the territory that the Normans had taken from France. He gave her a horse, a sword, and some men and away she went. She was pretty successful until she was captured and subsequently burned at the stake. Across from the ...

... is hard to explain, but the planning and implementation of the operation is striking. We toured a museum that showed how the whole operation took place. I had never heard of this operation before, but it was obvious that it had to be done if the Allies were to be successful in liberating Europe. All six of us are going back up to the beach areas after our tour is over. The experience at the Beaches was very interesting and moving. The scope of the whole thing is hard to ...

We left London by bus and traveled south to the Chunnel Tunnel; the I always thought that this would be fun railroad tunnel under the English Channel that connects Great Britain and France. I always wanted to go through it even though it is a tunnel and you can't see a thing. The Chunnel was completed in 1994 at a cost of approximately $110 billion US dollars; this was a slight cost overrun of 80% (seems the British government is aas adept as cost estimates as the US government) ...

An interesting side note. At the end of World War One, the French government had a very real problem. There were a mess of veterans missing arms and legs. The ...

... driving from one extreme end of Normandy to the other end, a job that took the American GI's two months to do in 1944. But, then, they had those darn pushy Germans mucking things up. We, on the other hand, were driving, once again, on the right and had four lane highways!
