... we now knew what to look for although photographing them proved tricky. AND we saw elephant seals lying out sleepily having a lazy Sunday afternoon nap on their own beautiful beach. This was a totally unexpected bonus. Early start to commence our journey up Highway 1/Route 101 to Santa Barbara and then onto Pismo Beach.
