... them and then checked into our hotel. I absolutely loved it. Decor was Spanish influenced and it just had a lovely feel about it. Our room was good, they offered vouchers for boys to have cookie in the afternoon (complimentary) and adults received vouchers each for alcoholic or not beverage in their small bar area after 5:30pm. Was such a lovely touch. We left boys watching NBA channel in the room and went down for ...

After a lazy start to the day and a stroll along Pismo Beach, we consulted with the locals and decided to make a short trip up the road to spend the afternoon on Avila Beach. Today's ride was a short 51 miles from San Simeon to Pismo Beach. The highlight of the day ...and maybe one for the entire ride happened 7 miles south of San Simeon when the Ride 2 Recovery soldiers rolled into the school yard at Cambria Grammar School

We were greeted by about 200 kids (1st grade to 5th grade) + teachers shouting USA, USA, USA -they were holding flags and hand made signs for the soldiers. There was a brief ceremony with ...

The SLO lane

We spent a lazy morning walking around this friendly and relaxed city. Apparently it's North America's happiest. Everyone was certainly welcoming and helpful, from the volunteers in the (dull) museum to the sales assistants in Banana Republic (was naughty). Even in Abercrombie & Fitch, where all the clothes are not designed for chubbies like me. It was good to have a day like this as the trip up until ...
