    We have stopped in Pine Ridge, South Dakota! We had to fill up gas after driving around 79 miles. This cost us $14.80 to do so. While we stopped here, we met one of the local people that lived here! He lived in the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation! He was a very interesting person who told us about his family history and that they had been living in Alliance for centuries! We are now headed to Keystone, South Dakota to see Mount ...

    ... 350 km and my absolute range is over 400 km, so I couldn't be out of gas, could I?

    I tried to listen for sloshing in my tank, but the results were inconclusive. Putting more gas in it was pretty much the only user accessible change I could affect though, so I was off to the gas station................on foot. The gas station was actually more of a cold beer store, that also had a pump, usually a good combination, but I doubted they were going to have a jerry can. ...

    ... stopped due to a dead battery. I don't like it in YOUR world, too noisy with all the wind, loud pipes and other cars. I like it much more in Lou's World, inside my helmet with active cancellation, much more serene! I shall ensure my battery is charged daily!

    Turning onto hwy 26 I stopped for a quick nap about 100 km short of my stopping point. I realize I was very close but we have to remember we are on vacation here ...

    ... Trail, the California Trail and the Pony Express all passed through Scotts Bluff. The rutted wagon tracks are still visible, a short distance from the Visitor Center. The monument has a hiking trail and a road, which allow visitors to view the landscape below from the top of the bluff. Most early travelers didn't scale the bluff, as there were no trails, and they usually had to make their destination before cold weather set in.
