The people steadily flowed in to the renovated meeting room in downtown Mitchell. Our supporters Jeff and Somer Pieper, and Jeff's mother, Joan Pieper, put together a lunchtime campaign event for us that was very well attended and much appreciated.

I got a little bit of that "deja vu" feeling while attending the Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce banquet in the Gering Civic Center.

That's because the next evening, the same location would host the first candidates' debate!

But the Chamber dinner put me at ease, with so many friendly people and much encouragement.

From our quick trip to Carhenge we moved on at about 3:30 MDT to the Chimney Rock State Historical site.
