Went for a walk down through the town for late brekky/lunch. Come back to hotel about 1300 and started to pack suit cases and get things organized for our journey up to visit Ricarda in Greifswald. Had a afternoon nap. Went down to bar at 1800 and caught up with Narelle n Gerrard from Darwin. Had tea with them in hotel and went back to their room until midnight. Great night ...

The hotels check in time is 2-10 so we had no idea if they'd still be open when we got there and there's no free wifi anywhere to be able to email them. You hope off the train on to grass, ...

... Park Gallery, a 360 meter tunnel down through the rock. At the end was another viewing platform with amazing views of the snow-covered mountains, including the Grossglockner. We were very lucky that the skies were so clear. There wasn't a cloud in sight.

Although the mountains were amazing, we also spent a lot of time here watching a tracker go up a steep, snowy mountain slope. It was amazing watching it inch its ...

... red ferraris that were zooming past people.

We then went up another spur road, that would lead us close to the Grossglockner. We tried to stop at a pretty lake to have lunch, but somehow we had left our sandwiches at home. So we continued on to the end of the road at Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Hohe. It was named that for the Emperor Franz Joseph who visited the spot in 1856. It was high on the side of a large glacier valley, with the Grossglockner directly across from ...
