The Shortest Day of the Year

Today I celebrate that the days are getting longer. We may not notice it as it is supposed to be cloudy all day but warmer with highs back into the 70s. It should be a perfect day to look at the lights that Vitas said were so worthwhile.

I am struggling with a cold and Richard is still under the influence of the flu that he has had for a week now. Nonetheless he managed a bike ride this morning while I did dishes and started laundry.

... time parade at the Polo Club on Saturday. Of course that is just what we did. Richard took the Fiat up early and Mum and I joined him via golf cart later. It was a beautiful afternoon but unfortunately most of the action took place at the opposite end of the field from where we were seated. ... war. If it is meant to be, then so be it.

We met Doug and Helen at Sumter Square. They knew a member of the band - Uncle Bob's Rock Shop - that was playing and we met him too. He also does pressure washing for his real, day-to-day job.

We had a late dinner on the lanai - bar-b-q-ed chicken, asparagus and potatoes. Unfortunately Publix has Key Lime or Mango pies and we had to indulge in some of that too.

... mac n cheese, cinnamon apples and a big mug of chocolate milk. It was yyuummyy!! At Chili’s, you get free refills on your drinks, but the mug is so big, that I didn’t have room for a refill this time. The second time I went with, Sydney, Mom, Grandma, Grandpa and my grandma’s sister, who we call Aunt Linda. This time I ordered something healthier - mac n cheese, fresh pineapple and root beer. Yyummyy again!
