Tourist-ing Out in Tenerife

... out beside our bed...I could actually see his individual eyeballs. It was gross. I thought about putting a glass over him and leaving him for the maid to deal with but decided to try and remedy the situation myself while Mike helpfully asked if I'd like him to help me from somewhere in the vicinity of the hallway. I declined and whacked Señor Cucamunga with a flip flop. In retrospect a boot would have been a better idea because I then had to step on the flip flop to finish ...

... we made a day of walking through the city and wound our way back to the dock. I took tons of pictures to show you how beautiful this city is but all with cell phone. Hard to believe I walked off ship without my camera!

Most of the people we encountered spoke English but I really felt at a disadvantage not speaking Spanish. I don't know if we'll get back here to The Canaries, but it was a great experience to see the two islands we did. ...

We land around 00.30 and are home by 01.00. Not tired so we put the first lot of washing on before bed at 02.15. What a great winter break, days ill be longer nod snowdrops out ...

We drive a little further south in the park to see the dramatic roque formations near the Parador before returning down the mountain to Puerta de la Cruz. We complete the town walk we started on Wednesday, surprisingly a very pretty plaza behind such a tourist ...

La Laguna, Santa Cruz, San Juan de la Rambla

A travel blog entry by valfinucane

A relatively early start by 10.00 to arrive in La Laguna in time for the start of the local football match between. La Laguna and Lanzerote. It's in a much larger stadium than last week and the football is of a better standard, a league above, but it lacks the local atmosphere, the result 2-1 to the home side is a fair result. We wander back into town and explore the old capital. It has some fine 18th century buildings set in a perfect grid so flat and easy to follow! We stop ...
