Day 10: Florence
... We watched some kids run into a creperie and decided it was time for Mom to try her first Nutella crepe. They are so gooey and chocolatey and sweetly delicious. Once we were in Santa Croce, we only had a little time, so went straight to the Masters' tombs. I can't explain the absolute disbelief and surrealty of standing in front of the spot where Galileo, Michelangelo and Dante rest. I mean, you're literally 10 feet from the father of modern astronomy, the painter of the ...
Day 9: Florence
... so we didn't go in. Hopefully it will be less crowded during the week. We kept going until we got to Ponte Vecchio, which is a 13th-century bridge with shops and restaurants all along it. What a neat place!!! We really loved it. We waked over the bridge, ate some gelatto, window shopped and pined over $350 leather jackets and $2,500 necklaces. I had an awkward lunch at an Asian restaurant and then tried to buy tea at the train station only to find that I needed francs and converting would be silly for the two hours I was there. Without caffeine I slept on the train to Milano though occasionally I would awake to the most beautiful scenery I've ...
More Florence Fun
... Of course, we were all about the stage and singing.
Instead of leaving with the group to go to a club down the street, 3 of my roommates and I decided to go on a little adventure. Before I got to Florence, people kept telling me that I needed to find the "Secret Bakery". I wasn’t quite sure how to go about finding it, but naturally, I was all over it the moment I heard about it. So we decided to walk around and try to find our way. A couple nights back, we met ...
