... I purchased several of the soft wool pashimas - some for me and others for friends and family, then received a quick lesson from the sales clerk in the art of wearing the pashima. With her help I looped a colorful pink scarf around my neck and stepped back out into the light rain, feeling instantly warmer and happy inside. Tom, of course, was not as interested in colorful scarves and had stayed outside the shop to snap pictures of the streetscape. ...

... but relatively slow and methodical; such that you only realise you’re completely exhausted once you stop. Large nets are carefully laid out on the ground, before the ‘clappers’ begin their work. The clappers are every seven year-old boy’s dream – long poles with huge, yellow combs of teeth that sound like machine guns. They effectively slap the olives from the branches extremely quickly but causing minimal damage to the tree.

... a tiny alleyway with a cafe. Whilst ordering we realised it had terrace. Now this terrace was 3m long x 1m wide and held 8 stools. We plonked our buts on 5 of them and wow, wow, we found ourselves overlooking the IlCampo. We had an incredible view and we made the most of it. Must have sat and gauked for about 2 hrs. My favorite part on the inside was the stained glass window dedicated to the Last Supper. There is also a statue of St. Peter by Michelangelo.
