... puffing their way up. Once we got to the first platform Isabella was the first to go. For a brief moment I thought she was going to back out and let her fear get the best of her, but as everyone reassured her that mommy and daddy would be right behind her and that she would be safe she stepped up on the platform and off she went! We would find out soon enough if she liked it or not!
Right behind Isabella Susie took to the cables and ...
La Fortuna, Province of Alajuela, Costa Rica flitterjahrour horse ride was brilliant. we went and met kevin our cowboy (not the most likely name for a cowboy but anyway) and off the four of us rode up over the hills and fields and streams and galloped along the footpaths.stopped to have a beer which we assume was the complementary snack that was included in our tour.. after four hours we were very sore and walking like john wayne. got dropped at our lovely hotel on a hill and ...
Santa Elena, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica smiley_kab... We stayed overnight in the big city of San Jose and took a look around. The city and really all of Costa Rica is pretty modernized and pretty clean. Bus transportation is plentiful and cheap which works for us! Ticos speak a lot of English which is very helpful for us. We are beginning to understand that much of Central America is going to be about the landscape rather than the culture/history. So to the scenery we went. We visited ...

Volcan arenal, Costa Rica 2monkeys... movie. And from there we descended to a huge waterfall, and a swimming hole at the base of it. The waterfall must have been a couple hundred feet high and was really powerful. Couldnīt swim under it or even within 20 feet of it because the force of the falls pushed outward. Only stayed for about a half hour.. because we had to saddle up again before it got dark, but I could have stayed there all day. The only problem with the horseback ride was that ...
La Fortuna, Costa Rica plamodo... group and was the only one that went swimming at the base of the waterfall. He is quite the inspiration!! We went to have lunch before we headed home and for the first time all weekend the clouds lifted from the volcano and we had a great view! Of course I left my camera in the van so I don't have a good picture of it, but it was breathtaking!! Arenal is everything you imagine when you think of Costa Rica...it was a great weekend!
La Fortuna, Costa Rica hcdalmau12... and he went on to find another hotel. That was the last I saw of him!
The next day I joined a small group to go white water rafting down the Rio Toro. After my adrenalin rush in Honduras, there was no way I was going to pass up another opportunity! Unfortunately there was a lot of rain about, but that didn't bother me too much as I knew I was going to get wet anyway. There was some great scenery along the Rio Toro; huge canyons covered in dense foliage, and lots of ...
