    Our hotel in La Fortuna was set in stunning surroundings with the volcano Arenal in the background. From our balcony we watched humming birds, lizards and toads going about their business. Amazing to be so close to nature.

    When Joanne was doing her tour of the butterflies and hummingbirds, the tour guide suggested we visit the Monteverde cheese factory. Since Joanne and I are fans of cheese, we thought this would be a great outing for the two of us.
