Kew House Edinburgh

We have stayed at Kew House during our father-son trip in Edinburgh. This place is magnificient with a very professional but friendly service. Please enjoy the pictures that I took in our room.

We stayed two nights at the Kew House in April 2005. The hotel is easy to find using the directions on the web site. (kewhouse). It was about a 1-1/2 mile walk to city centre, or there are several very convenient buses that go right by the hotel.

Ian and Alan were welcoming and very helpful. Ian had discount coupons (for a bottle of wine!) at a local scottish restaurant, and also for the tour buses. He made our restaurant reservations, too. The hotel was immaculate. Breakfast was cooked to order with a nice variety.

The property is nicely and modernly furnished. I worked in the comfortable lounge one night while my wife read. They have a locked fridge in the lounge, if you're looking for a drink. There is a computer for guest use, and they were installing a wireless network while we were there. There are snacks available (burgers, sandwiches, etc.) through 8PM.

We hope to go back to Edinburgh this summer, and the Kew House is the first place we'll look.

We just returned from a 2 week stay in the Uk and France. One of our highlights was 3 days in Edinburgh. We stayed 2 nights in Kew House and wished it could have been more.

Our room was spotless, as was everything in the place. Breakfast was wonderful and personalized to your tastes. The owners were helpful with suggestions as to dining, sites, easy ways to get around the city. Free internet access made it easy to keep in touch with family and friends at home.

When returning to Edinburgh there would be no hesitation as to stay at Kew House again. It's the best.

Good location. Stayed in apartment that is part of the property. Very nice accomodation, not too expensive.

Host brought over fresh bread, yogurt, juice etc for continental breakfast. A good place for someone with children or two couples. Easy walk to bus stop or train.

We just returned (November 3, 2004) from a 2-1/2 week vacation in Europe. Our family and friends always stay at the Kew House in Edinburgh, Scotland. Sparkling clean, outstanding, friendly service and value priced. We've been to Edinburgh 3-4 times in the last few years and always stay at the Kew House. It's like coming HOME -- a place you can relax (from all the travel stress).

We had a long weekend here in early October and felt we had to let others know how much we enjoyed our stay. Firstly Edinburgh is a wonderful place for short break with so much to do. Thankfully Ian and Alan at Kew House, helped us make the most of our three days and ensured that not only did we cover all the important things, but also that we found some wonderful small and inexpensive restaurants to dine in when evening came. The accommodation at Kew House is excellent and so clean and fresh. The decor is stylish and modern and the breakfasts worth getting up for.

Kew House is a gem in Edinburgh. It is a little ways out from the main hustle and bustle of the city, but frequently served by buses and an easy walk to the Haymarket train station. Our room was very clean and comfortable and our host had good suggestions for restaurants and entertainment. The breakfast was outstanding with numerous choices and good vegetarian options. Definitely recommended.

We stayed at the Kew House for two nights in mid-July and had an excellent stay. The staff understands all the needs and wants of the visitors at their guest house, including providing bus and rail information in the room, what to see and do in Edinburgh, restaurant reviews, etc. The common rooms and our room were immaculate. A small carafe of sherry and a box of chocolates were in the room when we arrived. The staff was the friendliest in our 16 days of travel around the UK. Breakfasts are very good. The staff take the time to find out what you want to do in Edinburgh and help you meet you goals.

Just back from the UK and spent three days at Kew House in February. We cannot recommend this highly enough. We had some varied experiences in the UK but this was the highlight of our trip. Kew House is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The weather may have been cool but we were always cosy and warm and the help given in finding places to eat and things to do, made our trip much more fun. We found some fabulous small and inexpensive restaurants. Ian, our host seems to have many awards and they are well deserved. Kew House only has six rooms and I believe two serviced apartments, but shamed many a top hotel for facilities and service.

We stayed for two nights in July and had a great time in Edinburgh...Kew House was a great home away from home! Friendly, accommodating staff (with lots of good recommendations about where to eat, etc), lovely room with comfortable beds. Good location near Haymarket station and walking distance from city center. Would definitely stay again!
