We had a perfect morning on day two in Maafushi. A lovely breakfast overlooking the beack in the morning and then we spent the day on the beach snorkelling and racing hermit crabs. I had my second coconut of the trip (which James soon stole to use as bait to catch a crow). We were both pretty tired as the call to prayer from the Mosque had woken us up at 4.30am so snoozed under a palm for most of ...

Firstly were suprised when entering the Maldives how strict customs is, it's illegal to bring alcohol (or dogs!?) ...

... after we visit there tomorrow)! Cochin is the wealthiest of the 26 states of India. We spent the day exploring the backwaters by boat (Cochin is called the Venice of Asia) and had a guide for the day very knowledgable about Jewish history. Cochin has a history of tolerance for all religions and the Christian (dominant religion) Muslim, Hindu, Janeism (how many of you have ever heard of that one?) and Jewish religion all coexist very well.

We have a little bag packed as our cases are reportedly travelling by boat so could be a while and I have therefore packed some spare clothes, bikini and swimming shorts and importantly sun screen. Already tanning In my usual stripy fashion so need to even it out! We are both shattered so whilst say in this little lounge going to indulge in some coffee. See you on the island! ...
