Memmingen, Bavaria, Germany cariverga... Jahren leer.
High up in the Allgäu Alps, a few miles from the village of Pfronten, we visited a very isolated for over 100 years family-run luxury hotel for dinner. It appears they had managed to get in contact with a guy they had met on the Rally last year. He lives about 20 miles away, and had gone to them, opened his garage to do the necessary repairs, and returned them to the garage in Feldkirch. The cathedral turned out to be a very plain looking building close to the shopping area of St Gallen and declared a Unesco site. We entered the building and ,wow, stood back in amazement!
What a fantastic building! Such wonder befell us!!! So much so ...
We arrived Lindau just about lunchtime. The place was brimming with people all, seemingly queueing for sandwiches or whatever! The sun was out and we walked around the old streets gazing at the magnificently decorated walls of the houses and shops. Especially the Rathaus in its fantastic decorated ...
Lindau, Bavaria, Germany ankorjuglorOur 'destination' on this part of the day trip from Chur was Lindau, an island city jutting into Lake Constance or Bodenzee. We changed trains briefly enroute and were able to pass briefly through Austria! Very briefly, not so's you would notice!!!
... gorgeous and the views of it and from it are breathtaking.
After our tour we drove to Kempten and stayed at the Peterhof downtown. This was our first room with a tv...all German stations, of course!
