      ... t in the backup described above. Altogether, a 5 hour drive took us 8 .5 hours.
      Then, when we got to the hotel, we noticed that the ice chest was leaking water. Turns out the plug had not been put back in when we emptied out the water this morning. Had to practically unpack the van (not easy, since it was piled full of souvenirs) and put up the seat to dry it out.
      Our worst day by far. But we are dry now, and full from a steak at Texas Roadhouse, so all is good again......

      ... still scenic, doesn't offer much variety as we travel through the various states. The rolling hills start to get steeper as we pass through Louisville, which makes for a nicer drive. The leaves are starting to become even more colourful, and I'm sure the colours are only going to get better the further north we go. I hope we haven't missed all colour back home.
