Here in the northeast they had one of the coldest winters in recent memory. The roads show it, I mean they are horrible. You have no idea until you've driven a car with tiny wheels and virtually no suspension. Driving these roads is like driving a slalom. Constantly swerving all over the road dodging potholes. Because of the forecasted heavy rain in the region, some of the locks in the Erie canal have announced that they will be closing until the high water subsides. So far none of the locks on the Champlain Canal will be closed. We hope to get underway Sunday morning. Our first stop is expected to be Whitehall, New York.
