    We were not excited about Vergennes. The water fall was nice, the town green community concert was cute, but the river was brown, the town was not vibrant and it was too hot.     Can't believe we're camping on the shores of Lake Champlain!!! We've had incredible experiences in this area of New York. This state continues to keep us on our toes!! We had an amazing hike through the Ausable Chasm where the river was rushing through a canyon of steep walls with incredible force (especially after several big storms the days before our visit.

    We left Vermont at 1pm to begin our 7 week journey. Heading to New York City to stay with a dear friend Will Robb.

    Will has Saturday planned out - highlight include: seeing Dinosaurs at The Natural History Museum and riding on the subway!

    ... for my whining. Today we did a 7 km walk in Montpelier, Vermont. We took some time to tour the state capitol building along the way. The Vermont capitol is small but charming. Again we were very surprised at the complete lack of security. What a contrast to New York where they didn't want to let me in because I had a wine bottle opener.
