      ... Pinnacles diner and it was fabulous. I had Lobster bisque and then pork chop followed by a soufflé just delicious. John had the crab cakes the a 23oz porterhouse which was huge followed by baked Alaska.       ... and Cathtlamet involve leaving the protected channels and going out into the Columbia itself, for portions of the trip. Alone, with no support, I choose the Skamokawa Creek option as it was much less windy and I could get closer to birds, and no chance of getting lost. I didn't have a map of the channels. The rental place might.
