... app as us. The cape is on the North side of the mouth of the Columbia river and the point of the cape is on the Pacific Ocean. The Columbia is so wide, it is hard to differentiate between the two and it appears many ships have fallen into the trap of underestimating the power of the river over the last few centuries. Due to the nasty finish, Ange decided we deserved pizza to go along with the coffee she went for. The raccoons seemed pretty happy with this decision as well and ...

Yesterday we had our first horrific taste of travelling on the I.5 or Interstate 5. We hadn't realised that it was Memorial Day holiday, so the traffic was horrendous, so were the climatic conditions. It bucketed down the whole way from Seattle down to near our destination.
Trying to find a gas station was fun (not) as they were on the opposite side of the highway of course. This did not go down at all well with my driver!

I waited it out for a few minutes (the lighthouse provided some shelter from the wind and rain) but eventually gave up and ran to ...

The houses in Victoria are quite beautiful with each their own character and many date back to the 18th century. The prices to buy in Victoria are from ...

We left Portland on Wednesday and drove along the Columbia River on the Washington side all the way out to the Pacific. We stopped at the Ilwaco KOA. This place is located on the Long Beach peninsula by the mouth of the Columbia. We learned that the area called the Columbia Bar is the most dangerous waters in the US because of the force of the river flowing into the ocean. There are also numerous sand bars ...
