The following day, Tuesday, we revisited the centre of Carmel for a proper look around and Kate and I purchased t-shirts (hers says "born to be wild" and she can be seen wearing it in her very colourful outfit!). After Carmel we backtracked a bit to visit Monterey where we had a wander around the Fishermens' Wharf and saw some sea lions frolicking in the water ...

... up with a ford escape with plenty of room! So off we trundle with me behind the wheel in loads of laughter trying to remember to stay in the right hand land not the left like back home! After a few missed turns we were on our way on the pacific highway heading north! First stop was lunch in Malibu. Now my expectations of Malibu was real surf culture with good sized waves and a real hip fell.....uuummmmm let's say there is ...
