... br> Today we hit the trail and took a ferry ride across the channel at Port Aransas. It was a tight fit getting the RV and tow car on the ferry.It was a short ride and then on to Brazos Bend State Park. All I can say is WOW. Named one of Americas top state parks by National Georgraphic Traveler Magazine. This park has 5,000 acres of lakes, prairies, bottomlands and hardwood forests, Driving in through the hanging Spanish Moss is wild.
... While in Aransas, we stopped in the visitor center and mentioned the overcast skies and wind. The ladies there explained we were getting smoke from the burning cane fields in Mexico and the volcano which erupted on May 8th was sharing the ash with Texas. ... we saw a dolphin show, and the Padre Island National Seashore. Then we also had fun go-carting and mini golfing. It has been an awesome vacation. See you soon!

And here we stay yet another day! Not many birds here in the park but if we look around there are plenty! Port Aransas has several good sites both on the bay and at the jetty and town pier. Plenty of fresh seafood and quirky places to eat.
