Stopped for the night

A travel blog entry by jerryc on Jul 26, 2015

Another 6 hour drive and we had to just call it a day to recharge.

Days Inn was all that was "pet friendly" but actually a nice place, right on the lake.

Tomorrow, we plan to head south for a place to spend a couple of days and then toward Columbus, Ohio.

Goal is to be home by Saturday to re-charge before next Monday....

After driving through much of Michigan, to include the wild turkey and elk capitals of the state, we arrived for the night in Cheboygan. We headed north and stopped about two hours into the trip in Mount Pleasant to get a prescription filled for Cindy and for lunch at Ben****n’s. By 2:30 PM we were back on the ...

The Lighthouse which was built in 1892 at the straights of Mackinac which is the narrow opening between Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. This stretch is notorious for Shipwrecks with over 100..41 of which have been found and identified. It is second only to the Whitefish ...

... around, but it is such a pleasant ride it seems much shorter. There are at least 5 bike rental companies and each has a license for over 300 bikes to be out. The downtown is quaint, touristy, and has beautiful old buildings. If you want to buy a t-shirt, rent a bike, eat or drink in a pub, or buy home-made fudge you will find it here. We chose to explore the inner island on our bikes as well. It is quite hilly, but is lush and overgrown. We ...
