... go gambling in Winnipeg for a couple hours, or just hang out - depends on how we're feeling as Sherry is fighting a cold right now. Have a mere 1.5 hour wait in Calgary, so will likely grab a bite to eat (knowing how pathetic Air Canada's food selection is). If this wasn't a Western Flight Pass flight, we'd be on Canadian North in a heartbeat. Now that's an airline! Until next time, peace...

The end of the road and the crazy cabin murderer

... I took some videos of the rest of Cameron Falls. <br><br>We kept driving in search of a place to stay for the night. I saw a sign that said there was supposed to be cabins at Prelude Lake campsite. We drove down the long driveway, and asked the guy in charge if they had cabins. <br><br>"Not officially, no"<br><br>"Hey, didn't I see you hiking at Cameron Falls a second ago?" <br><br>"Yep, I sure did. What are you guys doing here?"<br><br>"Looking for a cabin."<br><br>"You can come stay in ...

Bullock's Bistro and a play at the musem

... So the play was pretty fun, they put on that one about the assassin in the Pigman, an excerpt from "Squirrels" and another hilarious one about the Teddy Bears' Picnic. "All the bears that ever there was?" "Yes, even the undead bears!" At one point during Squirrels, the actress referenced the fairy tale about elves and the shoemaker that totally cracked us up. Apparently, we were the only ones to get the joke. Afterwards, an old man turns ...

We're not getting out to see any other events but we did see some dog races out on Back Bay durning a break after todays races.

Dempster Highway - The Drive to Eagle Plains

... a look at Tombstone Mountain Campground and was pleasantly surprised at its orderly neat appearance. Besides the roomy and private camp sites, it was equipped with an interpretive center and a food cache. This is a bear proof gallows-like structure made of tubular steel to hang food packs out of harms way to be used by travelers who did not arrive by car. The superb drive to this point only emboldened me. I could only think of one thing, and that was to ...

Survivor: Great Slave Lake

For those of you who've been waiting to read about some real adventure on this roadtrip of ours, fasten your seatbelts because here it is: We hung out in Yellowknife for a bit over a week in hopes that Chuck would be able to make arrangements for us to charter a Beaver float plane. We were thrilled to find out that a plane would be available for the weekend, and we would go for a Saturday night camp out in the bush. We were joined by Karen (Chuck's fiancee) and Hooman ...
