... I still have the much needed solo times as well. The first fire closure of the trail was the last bit of this section and everyone on the trail was deciding whether they would hitchhiker the road around , or walk it to true to keep a pure footpath from Mexico to Canada. Most everyone was getting off the trail 10 miles before it closed because it was the most direct detour. Attempting to have a pure hike from Mexico to Canada was important to me so I planned on on ...

... I long to pack up and leave the coast in our high performance Ford Focus. After stopping to be tourists in Temecula , a small town that restored it's historic cowboy roots, we eventually made it to Palm Springs and our condo for the next week. Let's just say we were pleasantly surprised. This place is awesome! We didn't really know what we ...

... we drank beer with our neighbours until the wee hours. We went to bed in our little tent hoping for a nice sleep...... SJ woke up in a right mood at about 6.30am to the sound of dance music and with the hot desert sun beating down on the tent which made it feel like a sauna. ... I still suck at it. I enjoy the social aspect of the game and don't take my scoring very seriously - I'm just happy to be there. I've accumulated quite a wardrobe as my friends and I haunt the malls and outlet stores. The deals are so good that I can't pass them up. (I'm going in the poor house from all the money I'm saving.)

Jim and I spent a day driving to Tom's Farms and Market in Corona. It is a popular family outing on the weekends and boasts a large ...

... tyre tear was causing worry as was the huge crack in the windscreen we discovered that morning - must have happened during the thunderstorm in the desert. No hassles, we swapped it for a free GT upgrade model with blacked out windows, I felt like we'd just been guests on MTV's pimp my ride!

We spent the rest of the time checking out the houses and cool 50's architecture around the city. Frozen in time it is one cool place.
