We got up, had some breakfast and then got in the van for Idyllwild! It's a mountain view drive that takes about 1.5 hrs to get there. I got a bit car sick because of all the twists and turns on the road. Temp in Palm Desert was 29 degrees. It was a bit cooler where we went but not too much of a difference. There was actually snow on the ground in …

... five year old fella named Able7. He got the name for a truly miraculous feat of not saying a word for seven days. I hardly still believe it seeing as he is almost always talking. I enjoy having his company still. He is a bit weird but that just makes him interesting. Though I zone in and out a good amount of the time he is behind me talking, some other the things he knows and says are both informational and entertaining. Talking does defiantly pass the miles nicely ...

Sometime in the early part of last year, while we were still in France, we came across a wonderful-sounding Road Scholar trip to Southeast Asia. It was a month-long adventure, mostly on a small ship, that would venture to Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar.  After having an in-depth, protracted discussion about whether we should do it for about 4 minutes, we said to each other, "This sounds like ...

Cinco de Mayo, or May 5th, is a holiday of sorts in the US. For many a good excuse to eat Mexican favorites and drink margaritas. See the attached link for more info. d/thehistoryofmexico/p/10cincodemayobas ics.htm It was our last evening in the desert and we enjoyed it with friends Mario and Joan over a bbq, and some vino of course. Mario is the resident chef who always does a great ...

... Hot Chili Peppers which were awesome apparently. I am just happy that I have at least seen the Red Hot Chilli Peppers before at Shoreline in San Francisco. Brad and Caleb drove from the festival back to LA that night and stayed in a cheap LAX hotel rather than face Monday morning LA traffic

We asked Zach at the end of the festival who is favourite band was and without hesitation he said 'The Wombats' and launched into their song "Jump into the Fog'. Perfect :)
