Leaving tomorrow for our flight to Budapest on September 6, 2015. A very tragic and volatile situation going on right now in Europe. Some of the headlines - "Migrant Crisis - chaos as trains stopped in Hungary", " We escaped from war and came to the big prison", and even more disturbing, "ISIS role in the migrant crisis". Maybe not a great time to be travelling to Europe, but we will be on our way soon. I can only pray that these families find somewhere safe to ...

... a visit to the area's oldest winery is a must. Waupoos Winery is set deep in the woods. This producer provides a variety of services; restaurant bar and grill, wedding reception facilities, a farm style fruits and veggie market, candy and chocolates en vrac. You name it they have it plus wine tastings all set in the oldest regional vineyard. The dark clouds settled over Picton and the rain started, it was time to ...

... was an incident on the road near (exit 12) Coteaux. We were stopped in park, folks out of their cars not knowing exactly why. Finally, someone ran up and told us there was a major issue that they thought would be cleared by noon but it wasn't. We were approaching exit 17 and saw a chance to move! Thank goodness we did, we took the 201 back to Rigaud then the 417 and caught the 401 higher up. Although we cut most of the traffic and it was better ...

Thursday was to be the "long" travel day - both in terms of kilometers and hours. I deliberately exacerbated both with a detour to Sandbanks Provincial Park. My rationale was that (a) I was looking for a spot midway to have lunch and a break, (b) why not start off a sun/water/sand vacation with sun/water/sand and (c) I need a bumper sticker that says "I stop for beaches".

We got on the road a bit later than I wanted. This was a combo of not getting ...
