    ... room was protected from the elements like the rest of the house. Junior also built a Playhouse sort of near the main house for everyone to play in. In my opinion, it is actually larger that the main house. This was no ordinary playhouse. It had an indoor tennis court, an indoor swimming pool, an indoor basketball court, and much more.

    I guess I never celebrated solstice that much in my entire lifetime...

    ... it was in total three events, a lot of driving around (by car and bike), scrambling, dancing, listening latvian songs, searching a parking lot on the beach, taking the ferry back to Manhattan, getting rejected by State police and having a few beers at Brooklyn boulders.     ... rain was so heavy, it kept most people home. We visited a couple of ice cream/donut shops and John juggled and made balloon animals for the customers, while Roger and a couple of volunteers from the Y passed out flyers and tried to sell tickets.

    This hike passed an old quarry on the way up Mt Taurus. There were several overlooks where you could see the Hudson River, Cold Spring, Breakneck Ridge. Returning on the north side of the mountain, you can visit the ruins of the Cornish Estate. We checked out the barn and outbuildings,by the reservoir and saw the pump house by the stream. I passed on the house ruins and was sorry that I did after I read the following article and saw photos of the house when it was still ...
