Today we went to three different places. First we went to Kykuit. Kykuit is the Rockefeller Estate. This house was built by John D Rockefeller for his family. John D Rockefeller was the president of Standard Oil, which made him the richest man in the world. Before he built Kykuit, he lived in a simpler house, but it burned down so his son, (junior) convinced him to built Kykuit, which means lookout in Dutch. It is ...

I guess I never celebrated solstice that much in my entire lifetime...

... it was in total three events, a lot of driving around (by car and bike), scrambling, dancing, listening latvian songs, searching a parking lot on the beach, taking the ferry back to Manhattan, getting rejected by State police and having a few beers at Brooklyn boulders. This hike passed an old quarry on the way up Mt Taurus. There were several overlooks where you could see the Hudson River, Cold Spring, Breakneck Ridge. Returning on the north side of the mountain, you can visit the ruins of the Cornish Estate. We checked out the barn and outbuildings,by the reservoir and saw the pump house by the stream. I passed on the house ruins and was sorry that I did after I read the following article and saw photos of the house when it was still ...

The next day, we packed up, and said our goodbyes to Dragon's Rest, and all the little dragons living there (haha, just kidding). Now, there were a whole bunch of of garden statues almost hidden away outside, and I found a lot of them on the last ...
