Another very full day! Its not easy having these freebie trips :) Started with breakfast in our hotel lakeside. An absolutely beautiful morning, warm and sunny and a pleasure to sit there and look at the scenery as we ate. Just a light bit of scrambled egg and smoke lake fish with coffee. Still pretty full from last night.

... previously made a sort of chocolate sweet that looks like our Snowball ie chocolate casing around a marshmallow centre. We arrived to find the aperros underway in the factory courtyard. There were 100 diners at the dinner. We were served a delicious local white wine and 6 different canapes, all very very unusual. ... Trail, nothing else would compare. But we needn't have worried as this is more incredible than anything we could ever have imagined. And very far from a walk in the park! Our knees and calves and toes scream in protest! Such things we ask of our bodies as we pound along down and down and down and down, for hours at a time!

It was a relaxing walk down the Val Ferret to Champex-Lac though we did have to climb a quick 400m elevation at the end of the day. The walk was through several villages with cattle sheds and houses from the mid 1800's. all the timber is stained dark brown and obviously weathers well in the cold climate.
