... I am meeting him in Australia so we only et 24 days togeth** but we will have a v**y good time, I am sure.
The last few days before we finally meet up are just torturous. I don't feel like doing anything. I just want to get the time ov** with and have him walk through the door. Of course, not doing anything means the time will move even slow** but oddly enough, that's still how I feel and I have to force myself out the door to sightsee ...
... back soon for an update.
New staff are arriving next week and will be housed in one bedroom hotel suites until permanent accommodations are arranged. Some are complaining but with fully furnished units including bedding, towels, kitchen essentials, internet, cable/satellite tv, daily housekeeping, free breakfast, gym facilities and laundry service available I'd trade places with them in a second!
... imposed on the University but it is expected in the near future. As with most organizations here, we are a very diverse workforce. Beena and Nanda are Indian, Leslie is Filipina, and we have staff from Australia, Lebanon, Nepal, and elsewhere. There are families, singles, those close to retirement and those near the start of their careers. Many people socialize outside of work and I’ve done the same. I plan/hope to meet friends outside of work but it’ ...
Doha, Qatar beyondwpgWell we made it. Now the kids know why Qatar Airlines has been ranked a 5 star airline multiple years in a role. It was almost 15 hours and there, but between the meals, sleeping, and movies the kids did not run out of things to do.
Great news is that ...
... No, I've got my guide right here." He got all surprised and bug eyed and said, "I'm your guide?!" After 15 minutes of joking and laughing I bought Siobhan the game for 100 rupees. After that we hopped a cab to the monkey temple, a big Buddhist Temple on a hill with lots of monkeys around that come really close. It was pretty cool, I like monkeys and they are funny. Our cab ride was the funniest party though. Our van shook and ...
Doha, Qatar jimmyandkristen... out, (1) because there is no speed limit and the lines on the roads are merely a suggestion and (2) because Doha is in the desert. After about 30 minutes of driving, passing cars and petrol refineries we come to the end of the road, literaly! Our driver pulls over so we can take some photos of camels and wait for the other cars to arrive. At first we didn't know why we were waiting so long and why our driver was talking to the other but then ...
Doha, Qatar 2knightsabroadAb heute heißt's wieder mal "Rinneaufreisen" ... also los.
Doha, Qatar rinneaufreisen... DC...other airlines quoted over $3,000). So I decided to risk the Israel stamp issue, and lined up for immigration. I got to the front of the line, and probably looked visibly nervous...I wasn't sure what they would do if they saw the stamp, etc... So I was banking on the fact that she wouldn't notice it amidst all the crazy African visas (I think the immigration agents in East Africa are stamp happy). After what seemed like a long time ...
Doha, Qatar ebolaben... off and we have to wait for someone to bring a replacement label, stick it on the bag and give us the duplicate. This person is most likely having a good laugh somewhere with my bank and our landlord because he never shows up. Streams of arabs and asians interspersed with the occasional hippie have filed past and we are the very last ones in a now deserted hall. Even the hippiefamily WITHOUT TICKETS got on before us! Have you ever wanted to know what happened to the Kelly ...
Doha, Qatar raquel_chiel... the world, every culture has reservations or grievances, each and every one is out to get something. I know I sound cynical but only in the Irish have I found a real intensity to just enjoy life, to live rather than make money or security or power to live". At that point I had to correct him. On grievances in history I had to explain the England-Ireland "thing", on being out to get something I explained how our recent richness and Celtic Tiger economy has left us just as decadent ...
