We were shown the bolts on the buildings which hold them together, I think the guide said Venice was originally a wooden city, there was still remains of the wooden structures that we could see. The bolts are only on the side of the building facing the canal and on the opposite wall so that if it falls down it will fall in on itself instead of in the water! Smart idea.     ... under that archway I find the historical museum. Great. Up we go again and are treated with a MASSIVE Etruscan and Roman display. Even though we have seen a few by now, this one seems to be one of the largest and more interesting. Another couple of hours in this one, and I don't think we see all of it when weariness and rather burnt out by museums now, we leave the Etruscans to rest and peace.
