Day 14: We left SF in the morning to drive down the highway back to LA. First stop was the huge Gilroy shopping outlets south of San Jose and the Silicon Valley. 4h later, all the girls were happy with a car full of bags and five new shoes. We drove further down to Monterey and stayed over in Pacific Grove, a nice town at the beach. The temperature …

    Race and Early Thanksgiving

A travel blog entry by christinakrawec on Nov 16, 2014

At dinner one night, I announce, “After my 1974 graduation next month, I’m going to continue working in the MSU Neurology Department for the summer to make enough money to move to CA in November. I always wanted to move to a place that is warm and sunny year round, and full of ...

    First night of camping

A travel blog entry by garyandanna on Sep 13, 2013

After a day spent visiting Carmel Beach which looks like it's come straight out of a Beach Boys video and Monterey home of famous US author John Steinbeck we roll into our woodland campsite to face our first night out in the wild. Gary just about managed to curb his competitive nature (and the urge to try and get his tent up better and faster than anyone else) and we miraculously get a tent up for the first time without any ...
