... We did a walk around the grounds and headed back to San Juan with Charlie wanting us to have a Mexican experience at Jardines De San Juan - a tequila and a meal. We were a little too early for both, but enjoyed looking around.

Instead of Mexican we were treated to Charlie's Italian spaghetti bol. (Charlie lived in Italy for many years as an artist and his works have been exhibited in many European cities). It was delicious and enjoyed.

Went for a couple of walks around the state park, looks like we need to do some training for next April....hehe. Watched the sun set in the beach last night and had a walk through the water. ... parking garage (so many one way or do not turn streets here), we parked and walked to the Aquarium. It is quite nice - watching the sea otters, really neat jellyfish display, lots of 'local' sea life, huge tanks with sharks and sting rays, touch tanks (but I didn't want to get slimy...shudder). We spent a few hours here, then decided to walk along the main street. Honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed - lots of tacky souvenir shops (and some nice ...

... on the coast TOTALLY different. Bonna had to wear a her coat and I SHOULD have worn mine. We paid the $9 'senior' rate to the California State Parks booth (our Federal Senior Pass would not work here--remember we are now in the 'Republik of California' and no normal laws apply). Now we were IN the Point Lobos State Reserve---legally.

Heavy coastal fog greeted us almost immediately. We had intended to park in the Cyprus Grove ...
