... a massive valley between two mighty high mountains and all I can think of is that it was at one time a river or a large lake.

I have now been over this pass by bike and train on a number of occasions but never in my life have I ever seen it with so little snow.

At one point I noticed one of the Bernina Express trains stopped in a station and so right away headed further to find a good photo spot to get a few snaps of the train making its way along the edge of ...

Moved on this morning, up the Pitztal valley, just south
of Imst. Went up to the Pitztal glacier, taking the Glacier Express(tunnel
train) followed Tyrol’s highest cable car to the restaurant at 3,440m, near the
top of the Wildspitze (3,774m). Perfect weather for a day in the snow – blue
      skies and no wind.

Staying near Jerzens tonight. Had a great evening meal at
      the campsite restaurant ...

... moment I had an inkling of what it might be like to work for the Yukon Geological Survey - maybe I missed my true calling in life? Anyway we had a great time, and finished up the day with a great Wienerschnitzel meal at a local restaurant. Tonight we have to pack up for our train trip to Venice tomorrow. We're sorry to be leaving this area. There is so much great hiking here - maybe we'll be back some ...

... their elevations. We even got a bit of sun up there, and were able to catch a glimpse of the Dolomite Alps in the distance (where we'll be soon). We enjoyed our bakerai kaiser sandwich lunch up there, which we had purchased in town in the morning. On our way down we encountered a herd of sheep, who seemed to find Bob very interesting and followed him for quite a long way (I tried to stay off to the side). We were back ...

... freebies including various swimming pools but
      we had no time.

We didn't make it all the way to Samnaun. We took four
chairlifts in all – two to the swiss border at Viderjoch/Flimspitz, then down
the Flimsattelbahn and up the Alp Trider Sattelbahn. We counted marmots during
the last two and tried to get a photo from the chairlift, failing miserably. We
decided to call it a day as we were getting quite cold and ...
