... very hard so it got steeper near the end. There were 38 hairpin bends on the way up (and 46 on the way down!!) VERY happy to reach the top as I cramped with 500 m to go. Not good! Amazing views from the top, and felt funny to be riding up through snow covered rock areas. The descent down the "classic side" was awesome with the 46 hairpin turns. Even overtook a bus! Wow. What a climb. Thought I had bit off more than I could chew doing an alpine climb, but did ...

... one slip and you were on your way, but fortunately we all made it. After walking for two and a half hours we arrived at the Sesvennahutte for some lunch, refreshments and a well earned rest. The host provided us with a complimentary aquavit or schnapps which was every nice. It was after this break when we continued down the steep descent that I began to feel the sun burning so I whipped off my t-shirt and replaced it with ...

... on the opposite side of the river to Melag. The scenery was peaceful and lovely and we passed cows and goats along the way. We then went to Reschen for lunch after seeing the bell tower on St Peters Church that was all that remained visible of the town of Graun, a town of 1000 people that was demolished for the Reichensee Dam in 1950. Next stop was to take the Watles Chairlift to Seven a Hutte for a short walk with spectacular views, before returning to the ...
