... few bones. As I was leaving the old city I saw the 4 ladies again - I chatted with them briefly and the headed home. Am feeling exhausted - don't know why as I haven't been riding hills - I think it is just the excitement and also a bit of anxiety about travelling by myself. I am sure I will sleep well tonight. The room has air con which will be lovely. I am sitting on the deck at the moment - very busy street beside me but I doubt whether I will hear anything ...

Before heading back to where Karine and Olivier live on the east coast of France, we took a little trip to Montauban, a small city where Olivier went to boarding school as a child. This city is as old as the village where the wedding was, dating back to around 1150.

I just realized I spelled Montauban wrong on every single photo caption. Oops.

There were slideshows of the bride and groom growing up and when they met, they had a "lip dub", which was a video ...

We were the first to moor at Vianne this time, so got a good spot, but as the day wore on, more and more 'fanny boats’ arrived and it was quite crowded. Staying two nights before phoning to book our crossing back over the Garonne on Friday, the second night was like Piccadilly Circus; boats everywhere and we had a noisy ...

... window you cannot see another house and at night there is only one small light in the distance. Bliss after very busy, noisy San Sebastian. We are in the historic area of Quercy, but you can also describe this area as Midi-Pyrnees, Lot, Cezac depending on whether you are talking about department, region, commune, village etc. This area seems to produce an abundance of interesting products - truffles (oak trees everywhere, but unfortunately the wrong time of ...
