... all their scabby coats and stunted growth they did look, on the whole, very happy ratties and I spent ages trying to get good photos of them reclining on iron-patterned gates, flumped out in doorways or playing on staircases. I was rewarded by a very auspicious moment - one rat ran across my foot. Hugh was most put out and spent a while trying to put his feet in the way of running rats, but only got as close as one jumping over him. Some people have it...some people just don't... ;)
