... that flamingos were native to France, but they are! Brian thought they would have all migrated by now, but I was able to catch a glimpse of a few!
But finally we arrived. Taking the first side road we could that wasn’t waay out of the way we went directly to the water to sit ourselves down on the Med and have a picnic. Beautiful! And we had it all to ourselves with just a few locals going for their mid-day walk or run. Now ...
So as you all know, I just came back from my 2 1/2 week road trip throughout Spain. For those of you who don't have Facebook, here's a link you can click on that will allow you to view the photo album without joining Facebook:

Overall, this trip has been absolutely amazing. I had never traveled alone before but I have to say ...
... two weeks (I was planning on staying for 12 days). So instead I've mapped myself out a really nice road trip throughout Spain, where I will stop in Valencia, Granada, Malaga, Gibraltar, Sevilla, Cordoba, Madrid, and Pamplona. This should take me about the same time, so I'd have approximatelty 2 1/2 weeks. Hopefully my next post will be from a strange and foreign Spanish city.
Well, finally - after a false start setting out to pick up friends from Pau airport a day early! - first night: moored up alongside the Canal du Midi, just south of Beziers. Some very noisy ducks for company... Bit of a gloomy one weather-wise. Rained last night, but forecast suggests brightening up gradually as day goes on. Slowing our departure from ...
Villeneuve-lès-Béziers, Languedoc-Roussillon, France marcdolav... loved me and couldn't wait to see me (I can't blame them). I only have one week until I leave for Portugal, so I really don’t have time to sit around and feel sorry for myself (Boo Hoo Hoo, I have a whole year of vacation and I am going to Asia, poor me…right, pffrtt). So that’s that. As time goes by, I promise that my blog will get more and more interesting.
"Allo Pysnoo. Serais-tu intéressé pour partir en Hollande?
Euh??? Ais-je le choix?
Bah en fait, pas vraiment!

All good things have to end and we said good bye to Graeme and Rita. After having a swim and moping around Sam said - thats it - lets go out, so off went.
The first stop was St Guiliem le desert which is a lovely little town north of Herepian. We then went on to Cirque de Navacalles which is ...
Another leisurely start and then off out we went after a big hail storm that delayed our departure until after lunch.
We headed up towards lake Saligou to add our names to the banks of red rock and then we founded a site where there are dinosaur footprints. Quite an interesting site
On looking up the nearby hill Greame saw a ruin so after looking at each other we ...
... boats, but too expencive, walked around for a while, then went back to the CV for more wine. it was a good laugh in the van, went out for a meal, which was also fun, then couldnt find anything! it was a ghost town, but it was amonday(or something) and nothing was happening, seemd to be just out of season too. went back to the camper van. we kinda knew these days would be quiet.it was relaxo time.
Agda, France gez_skipIn Search of a Roundabout/Manège The task of this past month has been to find a Roundabout/Manège/carousel that is actually open! Often find them closed up tight, being swept in order to open....3 hours later, or just being taken down to be moved on to the next village. Ah well. Otherwise we are settling into quite the relaxed routine - exploring the hills north of us (and finding the remnants of snow - eegads), and the more dessert scrub like area to the south and east of us. And ...
