Once 3 o clock hits we start walking up into the jungle, we are joined by 2 other couples who forget their permit but are allowed to pay at the entrance annoyingly - my friend Emma was sent all the way back to the village when she forgot hers!

... track?! We soon realised there were several of them sniffing around as some of the locals use them to transport the 'all the gear, no idea’ tourists up and down the mountain. We eventually made it to the top and it was already fairly busy so dropped down one level and found a great secluded viewpoint where all of our photos wouldn’t include the top of Chinese tourists heads.

... daily feeding sessions tend to be recently released females who are still building their confidence as 'wild' orang-utans, or mothers who have a baby to care for and therefore want a little more nutrition. The bananas provided are intentionally bland to encourage the orang-utans to look for food within the forest first and foremost, and not rely on the food provided by the rangers.

Of course they can't guarantee that any orang-utans will come to the feeding ...
