... but our guide had provided all of us with basic gas masks so we couldn’t smell it at all. It was very cool watching the blue fire and at times when the billows of smoke cleared we got to see the giant yellow sulphur formations at the base. ... the minibus was not running, we were given 2 reasons why depending if you spoke to the owner or his wife 1.something to do with being Muslim and praying was broken. So we had to get 2 buses. ... minutes of finishing my lunch the rain began again, much earlier than normal and well with that I resigned to my room for a movie day and catching up on writing. Only ****** part about it was that my laundry was now soaking wet again and I was leaving the next morning for Lake Toba which was a solid 9-10 hours of driving. Cannot wait to see what they would smell like by the time I arrived. ARG. Oh well...just have to do my favourite choir again once I got there; weather permitting.
