... and Chinese art in most of Java.

Dinner was a ridiculously extensive menu of expensive things, but like the dirty backpackers we are, we ordered Nasi Goreng and shared a Bintang! Afterwards we had a wander around the hotel and saw Javanese most famous painting, lots of Ming China and a carved dragon statue that was over 3,200 years old- the detail was amazing considering how old it was.

Heading for an early night to try and get as much sleep as possible before our 1am ...

... so I found another guesthouse with a restaurant patio overlooking the river and enjoyed some fresh watermelon juice and an avocado heart taco. ... up early to explore the volcano. The walk is fairly easy. Mount Bromo is not very high, actually one of the smallest in the area but the most beautiful one. It spews smoke constantly and the air smell of sulphur as you approach.
