... Day to day, everyone of the us claims that they have nothing against the them, but seriously--- everyone has an issue with everyone else. There's even us (the spiritual-- those on an ancient path) and them (those who subscribe to Buddhism, Sikhism, Hinduism, and any form of JudeoChristian beliefs). I'm not sure how I feel about all the noise, except that I keep hearing it.

... it down a line to a basket that supplies four long lines of maybe 100 people washing up. There is a section of maybe 60 people chopping vegetables, a kitchen of 150 people stirring gigantic bowls of curry and dahl. The whole system is quiet incredible! It serves aprroximately 40,000 meal a day. The Golden Temple itself was also a beautiful spectical and the humming Punjabi music and quiet appreciation made for a relaxed and open atmosphere.

On our way back we stopped to take a closer look at an ingenious local trout hatchery which had a multitude of little trout fingerlings in a make shift little reservoir made by a stick bund on the fast flowing mountain stream. This had so much more character than the concrete hatchery run by the government ...

... boyscouts involves a large dance party every night. Now, I probably shouldn't talk because I've been guilty of taking part in large group camping trips with heavy sound systems before (ahem), but still there was something fairly incongruous about sitting around a campfire by a river in a remote part part of India listening to Bollywood music blasting over a loudspeaker. Luckily, the dance party ended fairly early, and us old fogies still got to bed well before 10!

... The night time in the mountains was so, so cold. Probably right around freezing or a bit below, we slept in two sleeping bags and I wore most of my clothes, but the cold was still biting. I wa sharing me tent with an Indian fella called guy who kept stealing into my side of tent and trying to spoon me (or so I imagined). Bit awkward.
