Today was the first day of Women's Quest retreat. We met all the women at the ferry and were set up in the rooms. Then there was a slight drizzle and we got our rain coats for our walk to our lunch. Then, the heavens opened up and it was raining in buckets - we definitely got wet. Of course after 20 minutes or so, the rain stopped and the sun came out. After all the water was wiped down/swept off, ...
... but we did get a couple of inopportune moments where the skies opened!
So that was the excursions... we stayed at 7 places over the trip:
- Night 1: Dubrovnik
- Night 2: Mljet
- Night 3: Korcula
- Night 4: Hvar
- Night 5: Stari Grad
- Night 6: Makarska
- Night 7: Split
We had a couple of big nights on the boat when we were given happy hours which resulted in far to much long island iced tea ...
... and I'm feeling like an old granny but there is no turning back now! I lower myself into the water and push off, Oh my goodness! Everyone should have the opportunity to experience this moment. The water is clear and cool and revitalising. When you look around you can see the walls of Duprovnic,, the sun, the clear water, the blue sky , the ships, the swallows, the caniosts, the people walking around the wall, the people in the water..it really is so special and ...
... for yummy pizza and beer. At this meal we got the low down on how our trip was going to work. As it turned out we would only be with our new friends for a few of the days. We were on the "Family Tour" which was designed for less Kayaking, shorter trips and the last couple days were for tubing and banana boat riding. We were only supposed to kayak with the group for one day but we chose to do the longer kayak trips the second and ...
... for anything. The pace in Dubrovnik was calm and it was here that I finally learnt how to sit and enjoy a latte without multi-tasking.
Emile and I had two touristy things we had to get done in our final week. 1) Ride the cable car up the mountain and 2) Walk the Old Town wall.
