Another warm sunny day. I can barely stand it! After our wonderful day in the waters off Split exploring the islands in a little boat, we decided to do the same thing in Dubrovnik. This time David hired a little self-skipper runabout (which came with car pickup from the apartment, so no parking worries, very nice!) Picked up the boat at the marina in Dubrovnik harbour about 10 and headed off. The rental guy was very blasé, didn't bother to ...

Our hostess had been expecting us much earlier and did rush off after we arrived, but she was very gracious and helpful all the same. We stayed about a ten minute bus ride or half hour walk from the old town, and the ...

It is believed that Dubrovnik was founded in the 7th century AD, however some archaeological evidence indicates that a major population thrived here as early as the 9th century BC. The city itself is located on the very southern tip of Croatia on the Balkan Peninsula and along the Dalmatian Coast. Our main activity for the day was a walk along the city walls. Having heard stories that it can be a little strenuous, we opted to dress and ...

Hole in the Wall Café in Dubrovnik - The sea seems to have a bit of a surge.

From the wall in Dubrovnik - A view from the Dubrovnik Wall with an small island which you could visit. This island does have a monastery.
