Another warm sunny day. I can barely stand it! After our wonderful day in the waters off Split exploring the islands in a little boat, we decided to do the same thing in Dubrovnik. This time David hired a little self-skipper runabout (which came with car pickup from the apartment, so no parking worries, very nice!) Picked up the boat at the marina in Dubrovnik harbour about 10 and headed off. The rental guy was very blasé, didn't bother to ...

... to not tip over. Was happy to find out that these were very rough conditions and not normal. Finally made it to the beach and my body settled down - blood flowing to all limbs and feeling good again. Visiting this perfectly preserved walled city was a key reason for choosing the cruise we did - and it did not disappoint.

Built between the 13th and 17th centuries, the city is protected with 2 kms of walls which one can walk for great views of the city.

... little open air restaurant which we had entirely to ourselves. Hopefully my pictures will give some idea of how beautiful the setting was - it was really spectacular. We were given a glass of Dalmatian wine on arrival then we sat down at our tables. We managed to get one at the edge of the restaurant looking out to the bay so were in a great position to take photos of the sunset. We had a delicious meal of octopus, followed by fish - bass - with prawns and ...

... cool. Polarised Ray Ban's. Nats and I both got a pair. Hopefully I don't lose these ones overboard! After swimming we decided to see if we could find the post office to get our tax back on the sunnies. We walked for a fair while following google maps directions which were totally wrong and ended half way up the mountain, lucky there was a good view! We finally made it back to the old town, decided to get some dinner then we had to head back to pack and decide on what to do after ...
