Day 39 - Messing about in boats

Another warm sunny day. I can barely stand it! After our wonderful day in the waters off Split exploring the islands in a little boat, we decided to do the same thing in Dubrovnik. This time David hired a little self-skipper runabout (which came with car pickup from the apartment, so no parking worries, very nice!) Picked up the boat at the marina in Dubrovnik harbour about 10 and headed off. The rental guy was very blasé, didn't bother to ...

... we played off the rocks. Hamish was the first one on and found a huge octopus and told Dad to come. Dad pulled at it's head but it was stuck to the rocks. Later we went to a very unique restaurant where we had Peka squid and Goat ( cooked for a long time under the bell) , lobster, sardines, and black cuttle fish risotto and goats cheese. After dinner had finished mum paid the bill and we all went to ...

Finally made it to the beach and my body settled down - blood flowing to all limbs and feeling good again. After storing our gear, cleaned up and went to a family's home for a lovely home cooked meal. Many people commented on how they didn't even recognize me as I was so pale and looked like death. ...

... Once we had finished dinner we got back in our little boat and came back across the bay to the old town where we had about 25 minutes to make our way out to the other side to get our bus home. There were lots of little market stalls and shops open so we managed to spend a few more of our kuna on some more gifts. Once we got back to the hotel we had a nightcap in the bar with Ian and Cheryl then headed to bed - on the road again tomorrow and an early start at that.

... the day... On the last morning, he was receiving, hugs, kisses, high fives the works... The other bonus has been the weather. We have had beautiful weather, warm & sunny with very flat calm seas. Perfect... The pool areas, have been flat chat, with quite a few sunburnt bodies on show. The ship even has it's own "real live lawn" for relaxing & sporting activities. While we have availed ourselves of some of the ...
