... trap, no doubt, but I've wanted to visit it. I had no idea that Germany and Austria were so devout in the Catholic religion. We saw wood carved crucifixes along the roadside and here and there on mountain sides. We drove from Lindau to Innsbruck. It is about a 2 hour drive without stops on mostly 4 lane road and good highways. We already had out Austrian Road sticker. We got that when we went to Lichtenstein.
Driving through the Alps is not like driving through the mountains in western Canada. The Germans and Austrians don't believe in going around a mountain if you can go through it. We figure 1/4 of our trip was in tunnels!

On the road to Austria via Liechtenstein. Bern tells us that today is brought to us by the letter "S" ....
