We left Liege this morning at 10:30 and made excellent time through two locks and 35 km to Huy. On the way the beautiful Belgian scenery was spoiled by derelict industrial facilities beside the river-- very unimpressive for about 20km of the whole trip. 8th Leaving The Netherlands One thing about any other country to The Netherlands is the topography-- it has some variation. The photos show a number of scenes going into the Lanaye Ecluse (Belgian/French for "lock"). This was one very big lock and it was more crowded than any we'd experienced before.
