    ... have to be painted white with limestone every year. They are allowed to have either red, green or blue doors & shutters, some with blue dome roofs but Maoist with flat roof to catch the winter rains which is stored in underground tanks, not for drink though. The Govt. has built a dam on the island but our guide told me the residents won't drink the water as they don't trust the Govt. Says it all really! A really lovely tour.     This morning, Stephen got really irritated with the dreadful water pressure in the shower. The bathroom has been fully renovated and there is a shower with all the bells and whistles including jets that come at you at chest height and lower down. BUT the water pressure is so pathetic that you can barely get a dribble out of them. Stephen spent ages trying to get the system to work to no avail.     This morning we had a gondola ride which, even though we had done it before, we thought that to go to Venice and not ride a gondola was somehow wrong. We saw a few smaller canals, the Grand Canal and a couple of Marco Polo houses as well as Casanova's house on the Grand Canal as we cruised along the water.
