India here i am!
... visit just reinforced my feelings. Never again! Then walked to India Gate and then to the National Zoological Gardens. The Gate was good, the zoo was doubly **** AND depressing, both for the animals and anyone unfortunate enough to have wasted their money going in! Lastly went to Humayun's Tomb which saved the day and was quite pleasant. It's the Red Fort tomorrow and then i think i'll be sightsee'd out for a while!!

New Delhi, Old Delhi
... cloths on the altar. To one side, a group of ragis performed a raga, which would have been nice, but it was amplified and a bit tinny sounding. Around the altar, at seemingly random intervals, people sat praying silently, reading, or just meditating. There were lots of ceiling fans, decorated with strings of lights. Some of the small rooms to the sides had ceilings covered with beautiful tiles of colored glass. All and all, we liked the "vibe" of the place. The only unfortunate part ...
Incredible India
... was quite impressive; the good man let people of all religions live together in harmony. And so his fort had a church, mosque and hindu temple next to each other. Even transvestites he helped, as they were made his personal guards army, because no one else would ever hire them. Quite a modern thinker for someone 1500 A.D.!

Finally the next day came and I set off on the metro to the university. The metro in Delhi is a good one. You and your bags have to go through ex-ray machines like at an airport before you're allowed down to the trains. I'm not really sure what the point of them is though. The first time I went through I had a big knife in my bag (which I use on food not people) ...
Full Bellies in Delhi
