... would we do without it) I discovered a cable ski lift not far from the train station that went up to Pila ski fields. When we got off the train it was easy to find, so we joined the line of people carrying skis, sleds and dressed in snow gear, not many people wearing jeans like us! Got our tickets which was only €12.00 (I had read €60.00) and hopped into a cable car that went for miles, it took 20 minutes to get up the mountain, the ride was fun on its own. Liam was ...

... more nerve racking but our well travelled kids just took it in their stride; sitting amongst all our luggage while we had the car cleaned. We returned the Eurodrive Citroen with scratched hubcaps, 'keyed' panels x3, and a ding on the front bumper with no problems & no excess! We highly recommend using Eurodrive if anyone plans on needing a car for longer than 4 weeks in Europe.

The rest of the time, the boys in the family were hanging around in the apartment in our jocks enjoying the central heating and dining in. The promised snow never arrived, but it didn't bother us in the slightest and we left Zermatt after 2 weeks with nothing but fond memories and a couple of weeks of good skiing under our belt.

    Its about the car.

Driving in the luxury of the Benz into Charmonix for lunch
and then through the Mont Blanc 11.6km tunnel into Italy is fantastic and we take the road
leading up and over the St Bernard Pass. it's the highest mountain road pass in Europe 2300 meters. Lucas has put that
car through its paces on the twisting turning switchback roads and scared the

... were low but it wasn't cold, so it was very pleasant to wander the streets for a bit. I was pleased that I had not booked there to stay overnight - a bit touristy and we could not have seen anything if we had gone up in the cable car because of the cloud cover and heavy rain had been predicted. Slasher took over as driver to go across the border - part of the lease requirement for the car. We paid 40,90 euros to enter the Mont Blanc tunnel. Tunnel instructions are ...
