... the lunch hour began. The builders came in in hordes. Seated, supplied with bread and wine followed by pasta and then time to get back to work. We moved on and later found a great pizza place. Pizzas are good here (unlike Rome). We then followed Fabio's advice and caught the ferry into Como. We spent the afternoon walking about the main part of the city - lovely old buildings, huge Duomo (surprise!!), partially unfinished waterfront, shops ...

Leaving Milano, we started the day with Bergamo which is an ancient town about 40 km east of Milan we've been hearing a lot about. I have to admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me setting my expectation too high.

... styles of architecture on it's facade, and it is quite a spectacle. I partake of my last mammal-laden meal. The girls are spent, and head back to the room. Jack and I walk the town and get a little guy time, buying some gelato near the Duomo and having a fun walk through the freshly cleaned streets of Milan.

Tomorrow is an early day, with a 22 hour travel time back to Denver. As much as we enjoyed our trip, it will be great to get back ...

... a fantastic relatively cheap dinner at a use it recommended place called Martino with yummy pasta and a Milanese classic cotoletta - a pork schnitzel that overflowed from the plate and was smothered with cherry tomato, rucola and a tonne of oregano. Delish.

Gates for Pearl Jam gig number 2 opened mega early (3pm for an 8.30 start), and we had GA standing tickets so wanted to get there and queue. We did nothing other than sleep in, have a huge bowl of Risotto ...
